About
Sarah Wilkinson
Illustrator and Designer
I am a self-taught illustrator and designer living in Greater London and working from my home studio. After over 12 years working in TV and archives, I am following my dreams to become a full time illustrator and designer.

I enjoy working both traditionally and digitally. I work mostly in Adobe Photoshop and Procreate, and use Affinity Designer for design and vector work. I love the creative freedom that comes from drawing digitally, allowing me to experiment and grow.

I would describe my signature style as illustrative, fun, and whimsical, with a midcentury modern twist. Being an inclusive person, I approach all my designs from an inclusive perspective, and try to cater to a large variety of communities, and love how I am able to achieve this in my art.

In 2021 I began selling my greeting card designs on Thortful, and in less than 6 months I achieved over 12,000 sales, and had two of my designs in the best selling Fathers Day cards!
This same year I also had my first editorial commission for Frankie Magazine - a large pull out poster of Cosy Winter Tipples, of illustrated cocktail and mocktail recipes.
In October I signed with the London Studio and began selling my cards on Funky Pigeon and Moonpig.

My long term goals include seeing my cards sitting on the shelves in stores, and to create more editorial illustrations.
I am available for freelance work, licensing, collaborations and commissions. If you like my art, and would like to work with me, please email me.
Follow me on Instagram for doodles, sneak peeks and current artwork.

About Me

I grew up in the suburbs of London, and have always love to draw, paint, or doodle on any surface available to me. I have tried my hand at various crafts over the years, some of which I found I was better at than others! Let's just say that cake decorating is not one of my strengths!

I studied Art up to A Level and then Sociology at University in Leicester, After Uni, I began a career in Television, starting as a runner, working in an art department, buying and making props, and have settled in the Archive of a large Broadcaster in the UK, where I have been working for over 12 years.

In 2013 me and my husband started our family, and I am the proud mum to two little girls. I owe this change of career direction to my girls as it was during my second maternity leave that my creative urges really took hold and have helped me turn what was once a hobby, into a career and propelled me into becoming what I have always been in my heart– a designer and illustrator!

I currently still work part time in the archive, allowing me to spend these special early years with my family, but also the time to build my portfolio and learn the digital tools I need for this career. I currently work out of my home studio in Greater London.

One thing that is important to me is taking care of our planet and ensuring that any products I put out into the world are created in a way that is as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible, You can read about the steps I am taking here.
